Our Story
Born from a simple question.
Ardent began with a question every family eventually asks: "Who will look after my parents during the day?"
We opened our doors with a promise — combine the standards of international geriatric medicine with the warmth of a Nigerian home, and treat every senior in our care as our own.
Today Ardent serves Nigeria-based and diaspora families with the same founding promise shaping everything we do.
Meet Our Founder
Dr. Funmi Ohadike
DNP, FNP-BC
Caring for older adults is more than my profession. It is my life's work. I am a doctorally prepared healthcare executive, clinician, entrepreneur, and educator with over 20 years of experience dedicated to improving the lives of older adults and their families. My clinical and leadership experience spans geriatrics, home based care, adult care homes, hospice, and palliative care, where I have focused on delivering compassionate, person centered, and evidence based care that honours the dignity and individuality of every person.
As an entrepreneur, I founded and successfully led a home healthcare agency for seven years, growing the organization through a commitment to quality, innovation, and exceptional patient care before successfully exiting the business. That experience gave me a deep understanding of healthcare leadership, operational excellence, and the challenges families face when caring for loved ones.
I am also a published author and speaker on healthy aging, dementia, and wellness, with a passion for helping healthcare professionals, caregivers, and families make informed decisions that improve quality of life.
My commitment to person centered care became deeply personal in 2023 when I lost my father to cancer. Honouring his final wishes, I coordinated his return to his home in Osun State, where he spent his final days surrounded by family, familiarity, and peace. That experience strengthened my belief that every individual deserves to have their wishes, values, and dignity respected throughout every stage of life. That belief inspired the creation of Ardent Living Lagos.
Our mission is to provide a welcoming environment where older adults can enjoy meaningful activities, rehabilitation support, nutritious meals, companionship, and compassionate professional care, while giving families confidence and peace of mind that their loved ones are receiving the highest standard of support.
